You flew through storms,with your wings soaked in rain,to land on my petals,and you said you would try forever.

I was only beginning to bloom,after the bees had taken it all.You knew there was little left,and you said you would wait forever.

We made space for each other,sharing laughter and tearsbeneath unpredictable skies,and you said you would stay forever.

When lightning struck,and my stem broke,I asked you to fly,but you flew forever.

When my stem grew strong,you were already gone.A footprint, a note: “forever.”How long is your forever now?
