Five Seconds

The mountains stood still,the streets were alive,someone dreams of starting again,someone asks for five more seconds.

One chases another sunrise,another packs a bag never carried,a few meet their birthday,while many whisper their goodbyes.

Anger was left behind,sorry was never said,a hug was left for later,and goodbye never came.

The river takes without asking,leaving regrets behind,the water takes what it can,and leaves behind what it cannot.

Five seconds is only five seconds,a small space between two breaths,yet somewhere beyond our knowing,a life can turn its page.

Maybe this is a reminder,tomorrow is never promised,love a little deeper,and forgive before letting go.
